Join us for a day of movies filled with alien adventures!
First, at 10:00 AM, in Dreamworks' Home, Earth is invaded, in a "friendly" manner by the Boov, an alien race that is really quite cowardly. One misfit Boov, named Oh, befriends a human girl who has so far avoided being relocated during the invasion and the strangest road trip, and maybe even friendship, on any planet begins. Home is rated PG.
Then, at Noon (12:00 PM), in Flight of the Navigator, meet young David, a boy who goes missing in the woods only to return eight years later having not aged a bit. Certain he was taken by aliens, David finds the damaged alien craft, and with some piloting help from the wisecracking computer pilot named Max, together they try to escape NASA and get David back to where and when he belongs. This 1986 Walt Disney Picture is rated PG.
Finally, at 2:00 PM, meet E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. Befriended by a lonely boy, Elliot, ET and his new friend work together to try and help the stranded alien get home ahead of teams of government scientists desperate to find the alien. This 1982 blockbuster from Universal Pictures is rated PG.

The Maricopa Library and Cultural Center was first conceived back in 1955, when local citizens discovered Library Extension had books to loan. Volunteer-led for nearly 5 decades, MLCC matured along with the city of Maricopa, opening a state of the art building in 2021. Offerings include material check outs, computer usage, passport services, print/copy services, reference, and programs galore led by a hardworking team of dedicated library professionals. There’s even a USPS-contracted postal unit within the library, making it an easy way to complete life’s errands. Fulfilling a critical need for gathering spaces within the city, nearly half of the MLCC is carved out for meeting rooms for community groups, clubs, and quiet study. There is something for every member of the family at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center!
