Join us for a day of movies filled with pirate adventures!
First, at 10:00 AM, enjoy The Pirates! Band of Misfits, an animated film produced by Aardman Animations and Columbia Pictures. Join the Pirate Captain as he faces off against his two biggest rivals, Black Bellamy and Cutlass Liz, in a bid to win Pirate of the Year. This 2012 film is rated PG.
Then, at Noon (12:00 PM), watch Treasure Planet, the science fiction update to the classic novel "Treasure Island". Follow young Jim Hawkins as he joins a spaceship crew searching for the fabled planet where space pirates have stashed their loot. This 2002 Walt Disney Picture is rated PG.
Finally, at 2:00 PM, join us for the quintessential 80's pirate movie, The Goonies. Follow along as Mikey, Data, Chunk, Mouth, Brand, Andy, and Stef go in search of the treasure of the infamous pirate One-Eyed Willie, while being pursued by the criminal Fratelli family. This adventurous Warner Bros. romp is rated PG.
***Seating is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis and will open approximately 10 minutes before show time.***
***There also will be an area for children/families to sit on the floor at the front of the room so feel free to bring pillows, blankets or towels to gather on.***
***Children aged 12 and under must be supervised by an adult during the performance.***

The Maricopa Library and Cultural Center was first conceived back in 1955, when local citizens discovered Library Extension had books to loan. Volunteer-led for nearly 5 decades, MLCC matured along with the city of Maricopa, opening a state of the art building in 2021. Offerings include material check outs, computer usage, passport services, print/copy services, reference, and programs galore led by a hardworking team of dedicated library professionals. There’s even a USPS-contracted postal unit within the library, making it an easy way to complete life’s errands. Fulfilling a critical need for gathering spaces within the city, nearly half of the MLCC is carved out for meeting rooms for community groups, clubs, and quiet study. There is something for every member of the family at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center!
