Friday Night Magic (or FNM) is a format of Magic: The Gathering tournaments, held on Friday nights all across the world. They are designed to be a beginner-friendly introduction to organized play.
Magic: The Gathering is a tabletop RPG card game where a player takes the role of a Planeswalker, doing battle with other players as Planeswalkers by casting spells, using artifacts, and summoning creatures as depicted on individual cards drawn from their individual decks. A player defeats their opponent typically (but not always) by casting spells and attacking with creatures to deal damage to the opponent's "life total," with the object being to reduce it from 20 to 0.

The Maricopa Library and Cultural Center was first conceived back in 1955, when local citizens discovered Library Extension had books to loan. Volunteer-led for nearly 5 decades, MLCC matured along with the city of Maricopa, opening a state of the art building in 2021. Offerings include material check outs, computer usage, passport services, print/copy services, reference, and programs galore led by a hardworking team of dedicated library professionals. There’s even a USPS-contracted postal unit within the library, making it an easy way to complete life’s errands. Fulfilling a critical need for gathering spaces within the city, nearly half of the MLCC is carved out for meeting rooms for community groups, clubs, and quiet study. There is something for every member of the family at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center!
