Galexy Gossip is back! NASA Ambassador, Alex Nachman is back with her new galaxy and telescope series, which leads up to our large Webb Telescope event! Come do fun crafts and learn about space!
Alex Nachman, Solar System NASA Ambassador is back with another series on the galaxy and telescopes in honor of NASA's big Webb Telescope event.
The fun begins on September 14th and happens every other week until November 23rd!
September 14th: Create your own cutout solar system and bowl with the planets!
September 28th: Watch a water demonstration, learn about travel on Mars, and create your own (edible) Mars helicopter!
October 12th: Create stars with playdough and make an (edible) model of the sun!
October 26th: Make different types of stars with playdough and play a special star related game!
November 9th: Prepare for the Webb Telescope launch event on December 18th by playing an animation telescope game and creating different telescope models.
November 23rd: The final program will conclude with another presentation about the December 18th launch, creating and comparing different wave lengths for telescopes, and some cool handouts and prizes!

The Maricopa Library and Cultural Center was first conceived back in 1955, when local citizens discovered Library Extension had books to loan. Volunteer-led for nearly 5 decades, MLCC matured along with the city of Maricopa, opening a state of the art building in 2021. Offerings include material check outs, computer usage, passport services, print/copy services, reference, and programs galore led by a hardworking team of dedicated library professionals. There’s even a USPS-contracted postal unit within the library, making it an easy way to complete life’s errands. Fulfilling a critical need for gathering spaces within the city, nearly half of the MLCC is carved out for meeting rooms for community groups, clubs, and quiet study. There is something for every member of the family at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center!
