University Prep is a monthly program that will help teens prepare for education beyond High School.
If the words "College Applications" make your insides drop or if you aren't even sure that college is right for you, then you will like this program. At University Prep, the Library will invite Advisors to take the mystery out of college and professors to show teens what goes on in a college classroom. This program runs every third Wednesday of the month except January. Come in and find out what college is all about!
The Maricopa Library and Cultural Center was first conceived back in 1955, when local citizens discovered Library Extension had books to loan. Volunteer-led for nearly 5 decades, MLCC matured along with the city of Maricopa, opening a state of the art building in 2021. Offerings include material check outs, computer usage, passport services, print/copy services, reference, and programs galore led by a hardworking team of dedicated library professionals. There’s even a USPS-contracted postal unit within the library, making it an easy way to complete life’s errands. Fulfilling a critical need for gathering spaces within the city, nearly half of the MLCC is carved out for meeting rooms for community groups, clubs, and quiet study. There is something for every member of the family at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center!
