Tabletop RPG sessions, including drop-in gaming opportunity using the D&D Adventurer's League community play format for teens and adults.

To celebrate the release of the new Magic: The Gathering -- Adventures in the Forgotten Realms and in conjunction with Friday Night Magic, this will be a special cross-over event with D&D Adventurer's League adventures set in MtG's Ravnica realm.  As this is a non-official DDAL adventure series, if you have any official DDAL characters do not bring them.  Pre-made characters themed specifically for these Ravnica adventures will be provided for attendees.  Session 1 (from 5p-8p) will be a Level 1 adventure.  Session 2 (from 8p-11p) will be a Level 2 adventure.  If you wish to play in both sessions and continue with your character from Session 1, you will need to sign up for both sessions.  Come join in a game for a few hours playing in Ravnica then watch our Magic players play in the Forgotten Realms.

D&D Adventurer’s League is a drop-in tabletop gaming program using the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition rules.  Players can attend as many or as few sessions as they choose with minimal impact on the storyline for other players.  The Library will provide the space and materials for the Dungeon Master (DM) running the gaming sessions as well as character sheets, pencils, and tokens for attendees.  It is strongly recommended that attendees bring their own dice set(s), although some dice sets will be available for use during a session.

This program participates in Wizards of the Coast’s national program.  General details about how D&D Adventurer’s League works can be found at: https://dnd.wizards.com/playevents/organized-play

*** This program is based on using volunteers to serve as the session DMs.  Every effort will be made to schedule a sufficient number of DMs, but the Library has limited control over the availability/willingness of each volunteer DM. ***

*** Those interested in becoming a DM volunteer and getting into the session rotation, should contact Doug Fortunato at: douglas.fortunato@maricopa-az.gov ***

About the branch

The Maricopa Library and Cultural Center was first conceived back in 1955, when local citizens discovered Library Extension had books to loan. Volunteer-led for nearly 5 decades, MLCC matured along with the city of Maricopa, opening a state of the art building in 2021. Offerings include material check outs, computer usage, passport services, print/copy services, reference, and programs galore led by a hardworking team of dedicated library professionals. There’s even a USPS-contracted postal unit within the library, making it an easy way to complete life’s errands. Fulfilling a critical need for gathering spaces within the city, nearly half of the MLCC is carved out for meeting rooms for community groups, clubs, and quiet study. There is something for every member of the family at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center!
