Abuse victims are often told to "just leave" their abuser and their best life will follow. In Her Shoes puts you in the driver's seat and shows the real-world obstacles to finding peace and safety.
A series of revolutionary community education tools, the In Her Shoes® series is designed for experiential learning about domestic violence. Participants move, act, think, and make choices as a person experiencing an abusive relationship. Bring your dating-age sons and daughters and help them learn the difficulties of abusive relationships before it's too late. Library facilitation by Hope Women's Center of Maricopa. Due to content, no children under 15, please.

The Maricopa Library and Cultural Center was first conceived back in 1955, when local citizens discovered Library Extension had books to loan. Volunteer-led for nearly 5 decades, MLCC matured along with the city of Maricopa, opening a state of the art building in 2021. Offerings include material check outs, computer usage, passport services, print/copy services, reference, and programs galore led by a hardworking team of dedicated library professionals. There’s even a USPS-contracted postal unit within the library, making it an easy way to complete life’s errands. Fulfilling a critical need for gathering spaces within the city, nearly half of the MLCC is carved out for meeting rooms for community groups, clubs, and quiet study. There is something for every member of the family at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center!
