What is impeachment? How does it work? What happens during impeachment? Let Dr TJ Davis from Arizona State University explain everything you need or want to know about impeachment in the U.S.
Ages Teens - Adults. The US Constitution sets in place a process for removing from office elected and non-elected executive and judicial officers of the US. That process is commonly called impeachment. It is a power of the national legislature, the Congress, separately but in coordination with the Senate. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court may also play a role. Understanding the impeachment power and how the process operates has recently become very relevant to current government proceedings.
