Join us for a day of family movies inspired by the theme of Adventure Begins at Your Library!
Join us for a day of movies starring prehistoric creatures (sometimes not even in prehistoric times).
First, at 10:00 AM, start in the Ice Age, as a trio of prehistoric creatures, Manny, a woolly mammoth; Sid, a fast-talking sloth; and the devilish saber-toothed tiger Diego, face numerous obstacles during their quest to bring a lost human infant to safety. This Twentieth Century Fox film is rated PG.
Then, at Noon (12:00 PM), explore prehistoric life with The Croods. A courageous teen helps her family as they go on an epic, albeit perilous, journey to locate a new home after their cave is destroyed during an environmental catastrophe. This Dreamworks Picture is rated PG.
Finally, at 2:00 PM, Jurassic Park answers the age old question of should you do something, just because you can do it. Genetically engineered dinosaurs run amok on a remote island, and it's up to a paleontologist, a paleobotanist and a mathematician to outmaneuver the deadly beasts. Produced by Universal Pictures, Jurassic Park is rated PG-13.

The Maricopa Library and Cultural Center was first conceived back in 1955, when local citizens discovered Library Extension had books to loan. Volunteer-led for nearly 5 decades, MLCC matured along with the city of Maricopa, opening a state of the art building in 2021. Offerings include material check outs, computer usage, passport services, print/copy services, reference, and programs galore led by a hardworking team of dedicated library professionals. There’s even a USPS-contracted postal unit within the library, making it an easy way to complete life’s errands. Fulfilling a critical need for gathering spaces within the city, nearly half of the MLCC is carved out for meeting rooms for community groups, clubs, and quiet study. There is something for every member of the family at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center!
