The Friends of the Maricopa Library will host their semi-annual used book sale at Maricopa City Hall 3970 West Civic Center Dr. on March 14. The book sale will be one part of the festivities that begins with the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Library building at 8:00 a.m. featuring fun activities for the whole family. After the ceremony head on over to the Book Sale at 9:00 a.m. where you can great deals and buy books by the bag!
The Maricopa Library and Cultural Center was first conceived back in 1955, when local citizens discovered Library Extension had books to loan. Volunteer-led for nearly 5 decades, MLCC matured along with the city of Maricopa, opening a state of the art building in 2021. Offerings include material check outs, computer usage, passport services, print/copy services, reference, and programs galore led by a hardworking team of dedicated library professionals. There’s even a USPS-contracted postal unit within the library, making it an easy way to complete life’s errands. Fulfilling a critical need for gathering spaces within the city, nearly half of the MLCC is carved out for meeting rooms for community groups, clubs, and quiet study. There is something for every member of the family at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center!
